This is a site dedicated to the work on my 2019 Ducati Diavel 1260

This is a video from the dealer of the birth of the bike. Out of the box and with the aftermarket rims getting put on.

The next group of images are at the shop as it was getting the quickshifter added. Then loaded onto the transport.

As it came off the transporter and arrived on my doorstep - Thursday 30th April

The first thing to get done was to have the new Termi exhaust fitted and Rizoma bar end mirrors - Friday 1st May

So over the weekend of 2nd and 3rd of May, I got some ideas for painting the bike with some images from the net, as well as some of my own ideas.

I loved the idea of a thin coloured line around the airbox

Can't have a Ducati without it being red.

Next up were incorporating some of my ideas along with the images I had above. So I took what I liked about the 2020 and started to tinker, by adding the striping at the bottom of the tank. I wanted to stay with the traditional Ducati red, but I needed it to somehow look different from the 2020 bike. I showed the below images t my painter/artist to see what he thought. The only other option I wanted was to make sure the Italian flag was represented on there.

So whilst the bike was apart for painting, I decided to get a glass coating on it for paint protection at the same time -

Brand New Rims (apparently the factory think thin scratches mean new)

After the protection to the bike. Painted panels were done later - 15th May

So whilst all of this was happening, I decided to go out and buy more parts. Going black ring, black retainer and gold pressure plate for the clear clutch cover

                                       The End Result!

This was the first ride after getting it home from the paint shop.

Damn rock chips. Looks like another trip to the paint shop.

I'll put up more pictures as soon as I get the clear clutch cover on and the undertail repainted. Hope you enjoy the pics.

Many thanks to Todd, Warren, Glenda and family from Bunbury Ducati for the amazing bike, the boys from Brisbane Motorcycles Windsor for all the parts and assistance, Michael from Immersion Imaging for the amazing artistry, (sorry for the chips), and Matt from CleanRide for the fantastic glass coat, Leo, Steve and the gang at Ellaspede, and my good mates Jimmy and Drew for putting up with the constant "What do you think of this?" questions.

So here are some more pics taken by Matt at Clean Ride fresh after the glass and ceramic coating got put on.

Finally have the custom tail tidy done. The boys at Ellaspeede did the work and an outstanding job at that too.

The way this tail tidy was achieved was by removing the grabrail and machining out a gusset the entire way down the length of the insertable section. This was done in order to run all the electrical cables but still have functional use of the grabrail itself.  Motogadget indicators were fitted as well as a KOSO number plate light.

This has worked out pretty well and am super happy with the end result. Unfortunately from directly behind it does tend to cover the brake lights a little bit. But I'm not overly concerned about that. They can still be seen and are as bright as f*** anyway.

So. Finally got around to putting up some more pics below. I've got the Ducabike clear clutch cover fitted and it looks awesome.

Have spoken to the boys at Ellaspede  again to maybe conjur up some magic to transform the original timing belt covers and make it clear. Not sure how we'll go, but fingers crossed it'll work.
